An officer at this level  will work with the guidance of an Assistant  Director. The duties and responsibilities  for this position shall entail: -

  • Developing, implementing and reviewing administration policies, strategies, standards, guidelines and procedures,
  • Coordinating the provision of safe, healthy and conducive working environment in the Authority,
  • Developing and maintaining an effective inventory control system to ensure efficient management of the Authority’s assets,
  • Coordinating the acquisition of insurance covers of all the Authority’s assets to mitigate against risks,
  • Coordinating  the processing of  insurance claims for both staff and the Authority across various lines (General, motor, group life, travel  and Group accident etc  to ensure timely settlement,
  • Acting as a liaison  with the Insurance  Service providers  through facilitation of communication on all insurance related matters, including claims settlement, policy clarification, member education on scope of cover and renewal negotiations,
  • Coordinating compliance reporting to ensure all insurance activities comply with relevant laws, internal policies and contractual obligations with the service providers
  • Coordinating and managing outsourced services of the Authority under general administration
  • Ensuring , maintenance and cleanliness of offices, equipment, facilities, and assets;
  • Coordinating and managing payment for  utilities, bills,  leases, land rates and  courier services,
  • Manging Service Level Agreements(SLA) with the  outsourced  service providers under  General Adminstration, to ensure adhererance to  Service Quality standards.

Job Requirements        

For appointment to this grade, a person must have: -

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Public Administration, Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Risk, Actuarial Studies, Political Science/Government, or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution,
  • Attained at least Nine (9) years’ relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Senior Administration Officer or in a comparable position,
  • Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable,
  • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a relevant institution;
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications,
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results,
  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
  • Relevant certification in Insurance i.e Insurance Certificate of proficiency (COP, IIK, FLMI) Will be an added advantage.
