Narok County Government was formed by the County Governments Act of 2012 as prescribed in the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. It is one of the 47 devolved units situated in the Great Rift Valley in the Southern part of the Country where it boarders the republic of Tanzania. Narok County has its headquarters in Narok Town, off Narok Nakuru Road. Narok County comprises of six (6) sub-counties namely: Narok North, Narok West, Narok East, Narok South, Transmara East and Transmara West.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving and documenting patients at hospital reception
- Registering and booking appointment for patients to clinics and consultants
- Storing and retrieving medical records documents
- Preparing clinics
- Updating bed bureau
- Editing of patient case records
- Gathering data from different sources
- Capturing data from service points
- Maintaining record safety and confidentiality
- Storing and retrieving medical records
- Balancing daily bed returns
- Updating patient master index
- Directing patients to relevant clinics
- Scheduling of patients to the consultants and specialty clinics
- Assigning codes to diseases and surgical procedures according to the InternationalClassification of Diseases and Procedures in Medicine
- Capturing and maintaining health data
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
- A Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology froma recognisedinstitution
- A Certificate of Registration from the Health Records and Information ManagersBoard
- A Valid practicing license from the Health Records and Information ManagersBoard
- Certificate in computer application skills will be an added advantage
