The Quality Assurance Manager ensures ALS operations consistently adhere to aviation regulations, industry standards, and internal policies in compliance with Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) requirements and international best practices. This role plays a critical part in managing the audit process, conducting risk assessments, coordinating corrective actions, and promoting a culture of quality across the organization. The position is central to safeguarding operational integrity, enhancing compliance, and driving continuous improvement in ALS’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS).
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure ALS operations adhere to all relevant regulations & industry standards.
- Manage the audit process, including preparing checklists, conducting audits, issuing reports, and following up on corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments, investigations, inspections to identify & address deficiencies.
- Coordinate with the Head of Quality, service providers, and internal personnel regarding audits, reports, and corrective actions.
- Oversee the management and retention of quality-related documentation.
- Promote awareness of the quality management system among ALS staff.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ experience in aviation maintenance, flight operations, or dispatch.
- At least two years of experience in the Quality Assurance department as a Quality Auditor or equivalent position in airline industry or general aviation.
- Leading or participating in KCAA 5-Phase Processes such as inclusion of new aircraft in OPSPECs, addition in SOPs, AMO/AOC Certificate renewals etc., is an added advantage.
- A technically qualified person in the field of aircraft maintenance, or flight or ground operations.
- Knowledge of KCAA Processes related to Operations and Maintenance of aircraft.
- Good team player and willingness to work extra time in ensuring deadline of self and team is met.
- Flexibility to work with different groups and project teams within and outside the organization, as ALS Ltd Operations may require from time to time.
