Description

  • Ensure pallets are properly secured on dollies at pushout.
  • Collect thermal blankets and pallet covers and ensure they are in the same condition and quantity.
  • Ensure pallet covers and thermal blankets are arranged in an orderly manner.
  • Escort deliveries to airside using a trailer or tractor and security escort vehicles.
  • Ensure the yard is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Receiving and distribution of airline equipment as per SOP.
  • Load and unload cargo and deliver goods while operating a forklift/tractor-trailer truck at the designated areas.
  • Fill up on fuel, clean vehicles & tractors and keep a log of their activities, and maintain logs of trips.
  • Fill out the daily vehicle checklist and report any defects effectively.
  • Ensure equipment is kept in good working order.
  • Adhere to all security, health, and safety SOPs as per company policy.
  • Ensure safe acceptance of cargo at GHAs, correct weighing, and storage accordingly into the cold store.
  • Ensure cool chain management is always adhered to.

Requirements

  • High safety standards during the machine’s operation.
  • Safe and timely collection, delivery, and transfer of cargo.
  • Transit sheds and airside regulations.
  • Timely ULD supply.
  • Handling of airline equipment (pallets, nets, etc.).
  • C in “O” Level (KCSE).
  • Holder of a valid driving license—Classes B, C1, C, CE & G.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Further training on cargo handling operations will be an added advantage.
  • 3-5 years of accident-free experience.
