Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to paediatric patients in accordance with established nursing protocols and hospital policies.
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, administer prescribed medications, and respond promptly to any changes in health status.
- Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and maintenance of medical records. - Manage equipment within the paediatric unit, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and accountability.
- Participate in health education and counselling for patients and families, promoting a supportive and caring environment.
- Uphold quality and safety standards in line with hospital procedures and ISO certification requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and students where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registered and licensed with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in paediatric nursing within a reputable healthcare institution.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality management systems and ISO certification standards.
- Strong managerial, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Compassionate, patient-centered, and committed to continuous professional development.
- BLS/ACLS certifications are an added advantage
