Civil Engineer- Real Estate Development

Summary:

  • Are you a vibrant, self-driven and keen to detail Civil Engineer with 5 years of experience in real estate? Then we are looking for you. Our client, a real estate developer is looking for a registered civil engineer who will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing various aspects of real estate development projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all civil engineering aspects of our projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Take a lead role in managing real estate development projects from conception to completion.
    • Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
    • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Site Assessment:
    • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to determine the suitability of potential real estate development projects.
    • Analyze soil reports, environmental impact assessments, and zoning regulations.
  • Design and Planning:
    • Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure and site development.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with architects and other design professionals to integrate engineering solutions into project designs.
  • Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Facilitate the acquisition of all necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities including the city council.
    • Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations affecting real estate development.
  • Construction Oversight:
    • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans and quality standards.
    • Address and resolve any engineering-related issues that may arise during construction.
    • Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments.
  • Budget and Cost Control:
    • Track project expenses and manage budgets to ensure projects stay within financial constraints.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
    • Implement best practices for safety on construction sites.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on real estate development projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
