Objective of the Assignment

  • To develop a 5-7-minute documentary on the impact of climate change on pastoralist women and women living in the informal settlements of Nairobi.
  • To capture compelling photos showing the impact of climate change on pastoralist women and women living in informal settlements to be used during a digital campaign on the impact of climate change

Methodology

  • Conduct a desk review as guided by COVAW to highlight which issues need to be captured in the final products
  • Develop scripts that will be used as guidelines for the videos and photographs
  • Film short interviews with the program participants, partners, stakeholders and community members.
  • Take a range of pictures to show the impact of climate change on women’s rights

Deliverables

  • Detailed production and post-production schedule for filming and photography process
  • Draft scripts, including proposed interview questions for the short videos
  • Produce all photographs taken during the filming.
  • Produce a high-quality 5-7-minute video showing the impact of climate change on women’s rights

Consultancy period

The consultancy period will cover 10 days in December 2023/January 2024.

Key Competencies

  • Five years and above of experience working in a similar field.
  • Extensive experience in producing photographs and videos for local NGOs to reach the media, government actors, CSOs, communities and the private sector
  • Experience in working with local and international organizations.
  • Excellent technical capacities (state-of-the-art filming equipment preferably High Definition) to ensure smooth and high quality production.
  • Experience in development communication will be an added advantage.
