TEMPORARY ASSISTANT – ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE – 1 POSITION

Contract Period: Six (6) Months Fixed Term Contract

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting and Finance the selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reconciliation of Accounts payables;
  • Assist in preparation of annual accounting schedules for external audit purposes;
  • Prepare creditors aged analysis and deal with outstanding issues including following up with the suppliers for any necessary information or documentation;
  • Prepare expenses and other monthly schedules;
  • Reconcile supplier accounts, other payable accounts e.g., Pay As You Earn (PAYE) , Withholding Tax (WHT), among others and general review of expense accounts;
  • Liasing with the Supply Chain Management Department in the automation of processes to enhance efficiency in supplier management;
  • Preparing weekly/monthly cash projection and daily cash position report;
  • Support in the preparation of payment vouchers on regular basis; and
  • Assist in the preparation and posting of revenue invoices for transaction fees on Equity, Transaction fees on Bonds, approval fees, market development and license fees in accordance with the Capital Markets Act.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Commerce/ Science in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any business -related degree;
  • A full or partial accounting qualification or a commitment to pursue such a qualification will be required; and
  • Basic IT and knowledge of automated accounting systems will be an added advantage.
