KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing short term and long funding requirements of the Group and its subsidiaries by working with entity heads of finance and managing directors.
- Managing relationships with existing funding partners to the Group and its subsidiaries and identifying areas to deepen more collaboration to deliver additional opportunities for the group.
- Appraisal of the group investments decision for existing entities, markets, projects and potential, planned or targeted expansions and/or acquisitions and make appropriate recommendations for capital optimization to aid in decision making.
- Scout for new funding opportunities in areas of green lending and financing, technical support to upskill banking entities across different markets to position them for funding additional funding opportunities.
- Monitor compliance to covenants, and terms with long term funding partners, and working with respective entities structure remedial plans and timelines, follow up on implementations to ensure full compliance.
- Assess potential investments, target acquisitions, acquired entities and draw roadmaps to aligning and meeting the group’s financial objectives of such investments.
- Assessing finance resources, processes and systems capabilities (in conjunction with IT) of targeted, and/or acquired entities and drawing improvement/scale up or investments plans to align to group capabilities.
- Reviewing intra group funding resources and capabilities, and working with respective entities and group finance director, recommend cross funding/lending opportunities to maximize group returns.
- Working with group entities, review dividend declaration and payment opportunities to group, follow on approval, payment and settlements.
- Forecast and draft recommendation for review by the group finance director, external shareholders dividend declaration and payment plans.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a business related field from a recognized university. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- A Certified Public Accountant. Certification in financial analysis (CFA) is an added advantage.
- Has at least 6 years work experience in the finance field, with specific management experience in the below areas:
- Financial Analysis & performance management
- Fundraising
- Business Partnering
- People Management
- Stakeholder management
- Project management
