Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Officer/Public Service, he or she will be responsible for:

  • Organising, Directing, Controlling and Coordination of Functions in the Public Service;
  • Coordinating public service reforms;
  • Preparation of Departmental Plans and Budgets;
  • Ensure strict compliance with all financial, budgetary and procurement procedures.
  • Ensure timely, efficient communication and coordination of public service Departmental affairs
  • Overseeing service delivery in the Public Service;
  • Overseeing development of programmes and projects to empower the community;
  • Coordinating and facilitating participation in the development of policies, plans and delivery of services;
  • Overseeing safe custody of county departmental assets;
  • Coordinating and liaising with other directorate and departments in the county;
  • Initiate development of the appropriate County Departmental policies, legal and institutional frameworks for the implementation of the mandate of public Service
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirement for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration or Social Sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • In-depth professional knowledge and experience in a specialized field or broad knowledge of a number of fields
  • Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration and Development Management from recognized Institution will be an added advantage.
  • Have at least ten (10) years relevant working experience, five (5) of which must have been in a senior manager position.
  • Having attended a Senior Management Course from recognized institution will be an added advantage
  • Must be a team player and be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated a high degree of professional and technical competences in work performance and results.
