Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
- Operate and oversee the operation of recycling machinery, such as balers, shredders, conveyors, and sorting equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and intervene promptly in case of malfunctions or breakdowns.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality recycled materials.
- Inspect incoming materials and outgoing products for conformity to standards.
- Collaborate with quality control personnel to address any issues and improve processes.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to schedule and perform regular equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions while coordinating repairs as needed.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for machine operators.
- Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Report and update production metrics, equipment status, and any issues to the relevant parties.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve overall plant efficiency and effectiveness.
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of assistant operators.
- Motivate and support the team to achieve production goals and targets.
Production Planning:
- Work with the Recycling Plant Manager and Recycling Plant Supervisor to develop production schedules and plans.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production process.
- Make adjustments to production schedules in consultation with the Recycling Plant Manager and Supervisor based on changing priorities or unforeseen circumstances.
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of machine operators.
- Ensure that operators adhere to safety protocols and follow standard operating procedures.
- Motivate and support the team to achieve production goals and targets.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering,
- Proven experience as a machine operator in a recycling or similar industrial setting.
- Having operated an industrial production machine before with at least 3 process steps that required controlling of specific parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Should understand: -
- Industrial Machinery process.
- Industrial Mechanical Techniques.
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) i.e. Machine efficiency and Manpower Utilization.
- Ability to stand or walk for longer hours.
