Impala Club wishes to fill the position of COOKS with the following description. 
Category: Restaurant/sports/gym /recreational facilities

The ideal candidate will be a Kenyan citizen who has the following:
Key Qualifications
Professional Qualifications and Experience

  • High school Certificate/ diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
  • 3yrs+ relevant experience in Food production
  • Proven experience as cook
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Knowledge in Technical Areas (experience);    

Key Duties

The cook is responsible for:

  • Preparation of Mis-en plus items before start of shift.
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment; 
  • Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use. 
  • Cooking food as per the orders received and menu.
  • Receiving, clarifying and reading the orders to ensure order is prepared as per the requirements.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served and dispatching them to the Service Staff.
  • Ensure the work area and equipment’s are clean and orderly. 
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages. Especially when the Head chef is away.
  • Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.
  • Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
  • Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.
  • Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Ensure the gas is off while not in use to reduce wastage and for safety.
  • Ensure all safety measures are taken seriously to safeguard safety of the colleagues and yourself.
