The key responsibilities of the right candidate will include:

  • Conducting industrial hygiene services such as noise surveys, indoor air quality monitoring surveys, illumination surveys;
  • Conducting environmental field monitoring services such as ambient air quality and environmental noise monitoring;
  • Water and soil sampling;
  • Stack emissions monitoring;
  • Supporting statutory health and  safety and fire safety audits.
  • Supporting 3rd party OSH programs and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measures with the aim of preventing accidents, property damage and environmental pollution;
  • Undertaking environmental audits and environmental impact assessments;
  • Preparing  the necessary reports and communicating with the Customers in a timely manner
  • Providing site supervision for SHE for construction Projects
  • Developing technical proposals for proposed projects;
  • Support in technical proposal development and ensure submissions within tight deadlines.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure timely annual calibration of all field monitoring services instruments and equipment.
  • Plan, schedule and achieve demanding operational delivery targets and production overall objectives.

  • Good communication skills and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, working at heights  etc.
  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheet
  • Experience implementing/developing health and safety plans and policies
  • Demonstrated strong propensity for hands-on work and attention to detail in either academic or career pursuits
  • Ability to multi-task, to manage shifting priorities and to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Natural Resources Management, or any closely related field.
  • Good experience and knowledge of Environmental Laboratory Testing processes for Contaminants
  • NEBOSH qualification is an added advantage.
  • 3+ years of solution-oriented experience in a fast-paced Environmental Consultancy firm.
  • Proven experience in environmental and industrial hygiene field monitoring services providing diverse solutions to clients.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications especially word and excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed and occasionally work outside of core business hours for client engagements
