About the Role
Strong supplier partnerships and an efficient supply chain are critical to BasiGo’s business model. BasiGo is looking for an experienced supply chain leader to build the strategic procurement function within the company. The Head of Procurement role spans strategic market analysis, supplier partnership development and management, and purchasing operations to ensure efficiency, control, and compliance. The is a cross country and cross functional role requiring close collaboration with BasiGo’s engineering, manufacturing, service, and finance leadership. The ideal candidate is a versatile, entrepreneurial business leader who is equally comfortable with techno-economic analysis and with business development and negotiation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive procurement function within BasiGo spanning strategic supply chain analysis, supplier development, purchasing operations, and supply chain management. The strategic supply chain function will be responsible for:
- Market research of supply options for critical technologies such as vehicles, batteries, charging equipment, and other technologies central to BasiGo’s value proposition.
- Cost and risk analysis of global versus local supply chains based on supplier options and existing tax policies.
- Evaluate strategic technology suppliers against cost, quality, supply, and ESG requirements and negotiate key supplier agreements.
- Manage an organized, controlled, and efficient purchasing process across international and local, high and low-level suppliers.
- Manage supply chain to meet business operational objectives.
- Research and Develop an end-of-life value chain that maximizes value from BasiGo’s residual assets.
- Ensure that BasiGo’s supply chain strategy and relationships meet the company’s objectives for cost, risk, efficiency, and quality.
- Build an industry-leading team of procurement and supply chain specialists to manage efficient purchasing operations.
- Ensure that BasiGo always receives efficient contract terms in all supplier relationships
- Manage non-performing suppliers and ensure enforcement of contract terms.
- Support research and development for supply-side market research of new products and technologies in BasiGo’s product roadmap.
- Work closely with cross-functional leaders across the organization to understand procurement needs and leverage the procurement functions strengths in support.
- Advise leadership on key supply-side trends, risks, and opportunities.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s Degree in Procurement, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience working in supply chain in the automotive or energy sector
- Strong finance and negotiation skills
- Experience with techno-economic modeling.
- Experience with working with large international technology suppliers.
- Understanding of how local industrial policy impacts supply chain cost and risk.
- Experience with analysis and visualization of technical, operational, and financial data.
Skills & Attitude
- Strong communication skills - particularly in business development and negotiation
- Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to present financial analysis
- Ability to understand needs across multiple technical functions in an organization
- Ability to build an organization from scratch
