Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration & Finance) the Director, Security Services will be in-charge of security and safeguarding University properties:
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Enforcement of University rules, regulations and procedures
- Collection of intelligence
- Safeguarding University property
- Co-ordination of all Security operations
- To be proactive and sensitive to security issues
- Advising the University Management on security matters
- Reviewing the security arrangements
- Training of personnel on security awareness
- Capacity to create a harmonious working relationship with all the teams; internal, external/private and seconded
- Able to strengthen the working relationship with the National Security System
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Security related field from a recognized University
- Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
- KCE Division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ and above
- Served in the Discipline Forces and attained the rank of Major / Superintended of Police and above
- Over fifteen (15) years’ work experience
- Knowledge of Fire/Disaster Management and first aid
- Knowledge of Intelligence collection/ investigations
- Police Clearance certificate
- Computer literate
- Clean discharge certificate if applicable
