About the Job

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Environment, Occupational Safety and health programs to safeguard the well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Responsible of communicating changes of EOSH related legislation
  • Monitor employee conformance to the health, safety related laws and policies
  • Conduct the risk assessment in areas highlighted as per the Risk Assessment register.
  • Evaluate health & safety practices and procedures for risk assessment, follow the legal guidelines and develop the risk elimination factors. Suggest solutions, improvements, Controls and prevention steps for safety issues.
  • Conduct aspect assessment and control measures on all environmental factors.
  • Development, improvement and guidance on all the safety policies and procedures and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • For emergency, preparedness & evacuation, ensure drills are conducted on annual basis and as per the OSHA regulations
  • Tracking respective statutory and regulatory audits, licences and/ or permits for renewal hence compliance i.e., DOSH workplace registration, Environmental audit Food hygiene licence etc.
  • Attending to and reporting all site First Aid occurrences, injury Incidences/Accidents internally and updating General register for factories and other places of work.
  • Ensure the housekeeping conforms to fire safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and ensure Quarterly sampling and testing of treated Effluent water. Tests should be done within the set NEMA standards.
  • Review, prepare and Quarterly sustainability report on waste, fuel, energy & water.
  • Investigate and perform RCA and corrective action on all accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinating all issues and controls regarding hazardous materials and waste disposal as per requirements.
  • Ensuring employee strict adherence to the set safety measures and/or PPE Usage.
  • Conduct internal & external audits as per the Legal Requirement Tracker and take Corrective actions and follow up on all non-conformity reports raised from internal & external EOSH audits.
  • Conduct regular inspection of firefighting appliances such as hose reels, pumps, alarms etc. and provide supporting documents to your immediate leader.
  • Ensure servicing of firefighting equipment are carried out as per the established schedule
  • Ensure the housekeeping conforms to fire safety requirements
  • Generate EOSH weekly safety reports and recommendations on opportunities for improvement.
  • Development and control of EOSH related documents.
  • Track and report EOSH performance metrics, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Implement EOSH programs, including but not limited to Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTOTO), Working at Height, Confined Space Entry, Contractor Safety Management, Electricity Safety, and Permits to Work.
  • Create awareness to employees on EOSH policies, guidelines as per the training plan and keep records of the same.
  • Conduct safety briefings on fire, first aid, machinery, chemicals, evacuation, working at height, ergonomics & PPE in respective sections as per the set guidelines.
  • Conduct workplace Inductions for all Visitors, Contractors and new staff and refresher training for other employees

Education and Experience Level

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Health, safety or other related fields.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a busy beverage and/or related manufacturing facility on EOSH related activities.
  • Detailed knowledge of current health, safety and environmental legislations and its application.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively influence with both verbal and written communication.
