Salary Range: KES 18,000 – 25,000 per month (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About Us: Our client, is a charming boutique hotel in Nanyuki, offering 27 beautifully appointed rooms, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We pride ourselves on creating a memorable experience for every guest, blending comfort, luxury, and local culture. We are looking for an experienced and energetic Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing training and support.
Housekeeping Operations:
- Oversee the daily cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and address any housekeeping-related issues.
Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
- Place orders and liaise with suppliers to maintain stock levels.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning materials and chemicals.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Train staff on safe cleaning practices and the proper use of equipment and chemicals.
- Address maintenance issues promptly by coordinating with the maintenance team.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the front office, maintenance, and food and beverage teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on improving guest satisfaction.
- Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping performance and requirements to management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Education: Diploma or certificate in hospitality management or related field is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management and basic computer skills.
