Salary: KES 18,000 – 25,000 (Dependent on experience and qualifications)
Reporting to: Restaurant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Provide a warm, professional, and friendly welcome to guests.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any service issues promptly and professionally.

Food and Beverage Service:

  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and according to hotel standards.
  • Share detailed knowledge about menu items, including daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Upsell food and drink options to enhance the dining experience.

Barista and Bar Duties:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other specialty drinks.
  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as per the bar menu.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist colleagues during busy periods to maintain smooth operations.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the dining and service areas are clean, organized, and set up according to the hotel’s standards.
  • Adhere to health, hygiene, and safety regulations at all times.

Stock Management:

  • Monitor and report on inventory levels for the bar and service areas.
  • Assist with stock replenishment and ordering as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; additional hospitality certifications are a plus.
  • Formal training or certifications in barista and bar operations will be highly regarded.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in boutique hotels or high-end restaurants.
  • Strong knowledge of barista and bar operations with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic, hardworking, and flexible with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
