Job Summary

  • The Health and Safety Specialist will develop, implement, and monitor OHS systems, policies, and practices across Teleperformance Kenya's four sites. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, optimizing safety processes for 90-100% utilization, and fostering a proactive safety culture. The Specialist will be responsible for setting and achieving measurable quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee OHS policies, procedures, and systems in alignment with organizational and legal standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain incident records and safety metrics for reporting and analysis.
  • Facilitate regular safety training, including fire drills and first aid sessions.
  • Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and employee engagement.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA 2007, fire safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Submit quarterly reports to management on safety performance and compliance metrics.
  • Strategically manage resources and processes for maximum efficiency in OHS practices.
  • Regularly evaluate and improve safety processes to meet utilization targets.
  • Act as a liaison between management, employees, contractors, and regulatory bodies on safety matters.
  • Ensure consistent OHS implementation across all sites.

Requirement

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH) 
  • Showcase Knowledge of Kenyan Health and Safety Regulations
  • At least 3 years in a similar role, preferably in a multi-site organization.
  • Proven track record in compliance with Kenyan health and safety regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of OHS laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in OHS management systems and report writing.
