    • Our Client, a large well-established Non-Withdrawable Deposit Taking Sacco based in Nairobi is seeking to fill the position of an Accountant.
    • Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be involved in carrying out the accounting duties which support the Sacco’s overall strategic goals and objectives. They will also provide support to the Finance Manager, and other staff members in providing efficient service to the Sacco members.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Payment’s preparations
    • Accurate and timely updating of Members’ Personal Accounts
    • Cashflow management
    • Management of Sacco Investment Portfolio
    • Generally, safeguard the integrity of the Society’s data and maintain proper books of accounts for the Sacco.
    • Ensure compliance with existing Sacco Accounting policies, procedures, and International Accounting Standards. 
    • Ensure all necessary Sacco Accounts are always reconciled and coordinate to resolve any issues with the Stakeholders.
    • Ensure Sacco financial transactions are accurately recorded and always updated.
    • Ensure all statutory returns and payments are made on time.
    • Safeguard all assets of the Sacco. 
    • Ensure completeness in records and safeguard the Sacco’s assets against avoidable losses.
    • Execute the planning and preparation of the annual budget 
    • Ensure tax compliance 
    • Other relevant roles in the finance department.

     Qualifications: 

    • A Degree in Commerce / Business Administration or a related field.
    • ACCA/ CPA (K) and must be an ICPAK member in good standing.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in carrying out finance functions in a financial institution 3 of which should be in the Co-operative Movement.
    • Conversant with the Co-operative Act, SACCO Act, SASRA requirements, and IFRS.
    • Must have worked with Navision ERP.
