REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Served for three (3) years at the level of Principal Human Resource Development officer DPP 6 OR in a comparable and relevant position in the Public or Private Sector for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business administration, Public Administration or its equivalent from a recognized university;
  • Master's degree in Human Resource Managernent/ Development/Education/Public Administration or other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Education/Development or other equivalent qualification from recognized institutions;
  • Registered as a Professional Member with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM);
  • Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capabilities in work performance and results; and
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya zoro; Integrity, Honesty and Accountability.

NOTE: Possession of a Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

DUTIES ANND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Principal Human Resource Development Officer will be responsible to the Assistant Director Human Resource Development in performing the Human Resource Development function. Specifically, duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

  • Implementing and reviewing human resource development policies, strategies and programmes;
  • Facilitating planning and forecasting for human resource training and development needs as per the ODPP mandate;
  • Proriding adrice on human resource training and development matters;
  • Monitoring and elaluating the implementation of the human resource development policies, strategies and programmes;
  • Managing the development and implementation of the dirisional work plan, budget and annual reports, and ensuring prudent utilization of resources;
  • Facilitating the development, implementation and review of the Prosecutors' curriculum and manuals;
  • Managing implementation of decisions and guidelines of the Human Resource Advisory Committee on training and development functions;
  • Maintaining up-to-date skills inventory data base;
  • Managing the implementation of performance management of staff in the dirision;
  • Undertaking the Training Needs Assessment process and development, implementation and review of training projections;
  • Managing the Monitoring and Evaluation of training actil'ities to assess training impact;
  • Providing adlice on recognized training service providers;
  • Providing mentorship, coaching, guidance and counselling to staff to enhance organizational performance and for succession management;
  • Coordinating the implementation of internship and pupilage programme;
  • Managing the bonding of officers and collection of the training levy as stipulated in government regulations and guidelines; and
  • Facilitating induction of newly recruited staff.
