Car Wash Attendant (Mandatory - Steam Wash)

  • We are looking for a car wash attendant who MUST be conversant with using a steam car wash machine.
  • He/she will be responsible for cleaning the engines, exterior and interior of customers' vehicles at a car wash facility, which includes tasks like directing cars into the wash bay, pre-washing, applying soap, rinsing, drying, cleaning wheels and tires, and providing customer service by explaining wash options and ensuring a positive experience.

Key responsibilities of a car wash attendant:

  • Greeting customers and directing cars: Guiding vehicles into the wash bay and explaining available wash packages. 
  • Engine wash using a steam washing machine.
  • Pre-wash inspection: Visually checking vehicles for damage or debris before washing. 
  • Applying cleaning solutions: Using appropriate soaps, pre-soaks, and cleaning agents to the car exterior. 
  • Washing and rinsing: Operating wash equipment to thoroughly clean the vehicle. 
  • Drying: Drying the car with towels or air dryers to prevent water spots. 
  • Tire and wheel cleaning: Cleaning rims and tires with specialized cleaning products. 
  • Interior cleaning (depending on service): Vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning windows. 
  • Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping the wash bays and equipment clean and organized. 
  • Customer service: Addressing customer concerns, providing information about wash options, and ensuring satisfaction. 

Required skills:

  • Physical ability: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift cleaning supplies. 
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring thorough cleaning of all vehicle surfaces. 
  • Customer service skills: Friendly and professional interaction with customers. 
  • Basic mechanical knowledge: A certificate in Mechanical engineering will be a distinct advantage as will be understanding how car wash equipment operates. 

Work environment:

  • Primarily outdoors, exposed to weather conditions.
  • Wet and slippery surfaces.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
