This role is for a senior leader (Head of Operations) of Glovo’s operations team, which focuses on working with the Glovo team to support our couriers and partners in improving their operations and user experience around delivery. 

THE JOURNEY

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the Operations team, fostering a results-driven and growth-oriented culture.
  • Performance & Strategy: Set and track operational KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement in efficiency and service quality (delivery time, fail rates, orders per hour, courier utilization, etc.)
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial and other teams to enhance operational performance and drive growth across Kenya.
  • Courier acquisition: Identify and engage potential couriers through various online and offline channels, ensuring we optimize funnels and are well-covered during all periods.
  • Courier & Fleet Experience: Prioritize an exceptional experience, making the platform the preferred choice for our courier partners.
  • Partner operations: Improve key metrics such as preparation time, waiting time, menu quality, and more.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • At least 7+ years of total work experience, with 3+ years managing teams in high-demanding positions. Work in marketplaces, logistics, consulting, investment banking, or related fields are a plus.
  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Engineering, Math, statistics, Business or related fields are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills - you are hypothesis-driven & looking for data to drive decisions.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills - you can negotiate contracts with large organizations AND explain Glovo’s value proposition to couriers and micro and small enterprises.
  • Project management skills, highly organized and detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Suite and/or MS Office, Excel.
  • Knowledge of the local regulatory environment is not required but will be an advantage.
