Laboratory Technologist – Human Physiology

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chair, Pure and Biomedical Sciences department, School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the successful candidate will be expected to support learning activities in Biochemistry laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and conducting lab tests according to standard procedures
  • Supervising and assisting students during laboratory and research sessions
  • Ensuring student adherence to safety protocols while performing practical’s
  • Management of laboratory supplies
  • Using, cleaning and maintaining various types of equipment.
  • Segregate and dispose laboratory waste appropriately

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physiology from accredited university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in a similar position in a research or higher learning Institution.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in an accredited laboratory will be an added advantage
  • Excellent skills and competency in Physiological techniques, pathology or human anatomy. Clinical Biochemistry is an added advantage
  • Registration by relevant regulatory body (if applicable);
