Responsibilities for County Chief Officers

  • Oversee administration of the department and articulate the departmental vision.
  • Implement strategic plans aligned with County’s Vision 2030 and CIDP.
  • Provide strategic leadership and policy direction in the development and implementation of programs and projects.
  • Promote effective service delivery and ensure sustainable utilization of departmental resources.
  • Coordinate development and review of strategic plans and budgets.
  • Formulate and implement county laws and regulations.
  • Promote innovation and ensure compliance with performance standards and accountability measures.
  • Facilitate intergovernmental and inter-agency coordination.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure compliance with county and national development plans.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Be a Kenyan citizen.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Have at least 10 years of professional experience, five of which must be in a senior management or leadership position.
  • Proven track record in strategic leadership and performance management.
  • Demonstrate understanding of government systems and transformational leadership.
  • Possess relevant knowledge and expertise in their area of specialization.
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

    • Kenya Revenue Authority
    • Higher Education Loans Board
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
    • Directorate of Criminal Investigations
    • Credit Reference Bureau
  • Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
