Brief Description        

  • The candidate will Prepare and maintain accurate Cargo Interline Accounting records, and financial reports for management decision making and financial reporting.

Detailed Description        

Principal Accountabilities (Responsibility)

  • To validate the SPAs (Special Prorate Agreements) that KQ bilaterally agrees with customer airlines and ensures they are valid at the time of the application.
  • Prepare and share regular SPA updates with the Commercial Team three months before expiry of their validity period for decision making to either extend or commence negotiating for new SPA rates or terminate existing ones if not commercially viable to the business.
  • Regularly advising the Commercial Team on customer airlines suspended from the IATA Clearing house to ease credit management of the airline debtors.
  • Initiating and responding to correspondences logged in IATA- SIS for transactions that have passed IATA 3rd stage billing cycle to ensure no revenue leakages.
  • Reconciling AR transactions with GL postings to ensure completeness and accurate financial reporting.
  • Resolving and follow up on queries arising from the bills to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Initiating correspondence with cargo sales offices to address revenue leakages to ensure no revenue violations.

Job Requirements        

Qualification (Minimum)  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field.
  • CPA Part II is an advantage.
  •  Proficient in using financial accounting system.
  • Data Analysis Skills
  • Knowledge of Cargo Revenue Accounting
  • Hands-on experience of a fully integrated Cargo Revenue Accounting System.
  • Basic Cargo Tariff, MSOffice suite, Business Objects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in and outside the organization.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the airline industry.
