The Chef will be responsible for the daily preparation of meals, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, snacks, and dinner, while ensuring exceptional taste, presentation, and hygiene. The ideal candidate should be experienced in managing kitchen operations and hosting occasional dinner parties at the residence.
This is a full-time position suited for someone with strong culinary expertise, particularly in Indian, African, and Continental cuisines, and a keen sense of creativity in menu planning. A good understanding of nutrition, kitchen inventory management, and food safety standards is essential. The successful candidate must be punctual, organized, and capable of working harmoniously with other household staff. Also, the chef must adhere to the highest standards of safe food handling.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, snacks, dinner) for the household.
- Plan and execute dinner parties hosted at the residence.
- Serve all prepared meals to the family and guests.
- Create and update diverse, balanced menus with a focus on taste, presentation, and nutrition.
- Manage kitchen inventory, stock levels, and pantry supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen space in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate effectively with household staff to ensure smooth and great service.
- Ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to source additional ingredients as needed.
- Always ensuring compliance with safe food handling practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Private Chef or in a similar role.
- Expertise in Indian and Continental cuisines.
- Experience working in both hotel and private home settings.
- Strong kitchen and time management skills.
- Excellent presentation and plating skills.
- Knowledge of nutrition and healthy cooking practices.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene is an added advantage.
- Experience handling private dinner parties is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a household team.
