About the position
The Office is responsible to the Board of Trustees for providing Strategic Leadership and management, implementing the Board's decisions, and day-to-day Administration of the Institute. The Office of the CEO is established pursuant to Section 10 of the Cancer Prevention and Control Act, No. 15 of 2012.
Role description
- Accounting officer of the Institute
- Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Institute
- Providing policy and technical advice to the Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies in matters pertaining to cancer
- Serving as the link between the Board of Trustees and Management, and providing regular communication to the Board on key technical, financial and administrative matters
- Executing and communicating the Board’s strategies, decisions and policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Master’s Degree in matters relating to cancer from a recognized institution.
- At least ten (10) years post-qualification managerial working experience (As provided in the Act)
- Membership in a professional body; Valid practicing license;
- Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
