Duties and Responsibilities:

  • UNDRR is seeking a qualified and experienced consultant to develop the executive design of the situation room, the technical specification for equipment and professional furniture, the bill of quantity for civil and electrical works, as well as cabling.
  • The Consultancy will work under the general supervision of the Early Warning and Risk coordinator from UNDRR Regional Office for Africa and work on daily basis with Director of Disaster Risk Management of DMMU and technical coordinators in AUC, CIMA and SHOC.

The consultant will be required to:

  • Prepare a survey for the designated premises indicating dimensions, location of sockets for electricity and cabling. Description of the status of the rooms, including walls, windows, lighting, floor, etc. Prepare graphics and description. - 5 working days after the Signature of the contract
  • Develop the executive design, bill of quantity, timeline of execution for the preparation of the Situation Room and Meeting Room according to the general requirements that will be defined by Director of Disaster Risk Management of DMMU in coordination with UNDRR, AUC and partners - 15 working days
  • Develop technical specifications for IT equipment and professional furniture for at least two options. The technical specification should be in line with existing Situation Rooms of AMHEWAS and developed in consultation with Director of Disaster Risk Management of DMMU 5 working days

Qualifications/special skills

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in civil engineering, Architecture, Interior design, Architectural Technology or another relevant field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in any of these fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Five (5) years years of relevant experience in civil engineering or architecture is required.
