Supply Chain Management Officer

The appointment shall be Permanent and Pensionable. The officer at this level will report to the Principal Supply Chain Officer.

This is the entry and training grade for degree holders in this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail assisting in:

  • Implementing the annual procurement plan;
  • Providing secretariat to committees’ incidental to procurement of goods and services and disposal of assets;
  • Building capacity of the organization in procurement management;
  • Ensuring all goods and services purchased comply with the Centre’s standards;
  • Reviewing and monitoring procurement budget expenditures against the procurement plan;
  • Conducting analysis reports on performance for forecast and budgets;
  • Providing technical support on matters relating to procurement processes and procedure;
  • Reviewing tender notices;
  • Reviewing notification of award/regrets and tender acceptance process;
  • Compiling and evaluating tenders;
  • Formulating supplies, procurement and inventory manuals; and
  • Safeguarding tenders, quotations and request for proposals. 

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Procurement, Purchasing, Business Administration, Commerce or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Membership to professional body where applicable and in good standing;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

The Successful candidates will be required to submit the following documents;

  • Certificate of clearance from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Certificate of Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Duly filled and stamped self declaration/ clearance form from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC)

The self declaration form, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) should indicate the Principal Research Officer as the position for which declaration is being submitted.
