Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Be a holder of at least a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution
- Be a holder of a Higher National Diploma in Accident and Emergency Care Nursing
- Be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya as an Accident and Emergency Care Nurse
- Possess a valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya as an Accident and Emergency Care Nurse
- Must be computer literate
Duties and responsibilities
The Registered Nurse – Accident and Emergency Care shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
- Offering Nursing Services to patients;
- Ensuring that medical and other clinical emergencies are well responded to and patients well attended to;
- To ensure that the casualty unit of the hospital has all the necessary supplies;
- Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues;
- Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities or units in the facility;
- Coaching and mentoring students on attachment;
- Organizing health management teams and convening health management committee meetings
- Collecting and compiling data for research on nursing services issues
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
