Tutorial Fellow – Midwifery & Reproductive Health

Main Purpose of Job:

  • To develop, manage and monitor the implementation of Department of Nursing and Midwifery programs and related activities in the university. These include, but are not limited to, teaching and training, curriculum 
  • development and review; research, innovation and fund-raising activities; publication and dissemination of knowledge; supervision and coordination of programs in the department; supervision of students and the adherence of or quality assurance and accreditation requirements by relevant regulatory bodies. The holder of this post will report to the Head of Department in the execution of their duties and will contribute toward meeting the key performance indicators and targets of the department and the overall University mission and vision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching and training in the area of Medical Surgical Nursing
  • Curricula development and Review 
  • Engage in research and extension activities and fund-raising activities in the Department 
  • Student supervision and mentoring 
  • Engage in professional development activities 
  • Engage in any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Department, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, from time to time.

Required Qualifications and experience 
Education

  • Master of Science in midwifery & reproductive Health
  • Must hold a valid practice license
  • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya 
  • At least 3 years teaching in nursing training
  • At least 2 years’ experience in clinical practice
  • Experience in curriculum development and evaluation
  • Experience in supporting a virtual learning environment
