WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Bar Instructor/Mixologist will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering a comprehensive curriculum in mixology and bar management. This role will involve providing theoretical and practical training to the students, staying up to date in industry trades and fostering a dynamic learning environment. The bar instructor/mixologist plays a key role in preparing students for successful careers in the beverage service industry.

Your key Responsibilities:
- Design and update course materials related to mixology, bar management, and beverage trends.
- Develop lesson plans that encompass both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills.
- Conduct engaging and informative classes, ensuring students acquire essential knowledge and skills.
- Provide practical training sessions, including cocktail preparation, mixology techniques, and beverage service
- Incorporate industry best practices and emerging trends into the curriculum.
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' understanding and proficiency.
- Offer mentorship and guidance to students pursuing careers in mixology and bartending.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate mixology components into broader culinary programs.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the mixology laboratory and equipment.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay current with industry advancements.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the management.
THE SKILLS AND COMPETENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements:
- College Diploma in Hospitality Preferably, Degree in Hospitality is an added advantage.
- Certification in mixology or related field is highly desirable
- Certification in wine preferably WSET Level 2 is an added advantage
- Proven experience as a Mixologist or Bartender with a strong background in mixology.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience or relevant instructional roles. A deep understanding of, commitment to and involvement in hospitality Industry
