Job Purpose

  • The role holder will be responsible for receiving, storing and supporting in the management of stock materials and inventory supplies or merchandise. He/She will be responsible for compiling stock records and submitting requisitions to replenish stock in line with the section’s procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for counting, sorting, and checking incoming stock; verifies against requisitions, delivery notes or invoices.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies in the delivery of goods with suppliers to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain information regarding shipping status of incoming orders.
  • Maintain and organize stock in a neat and presentable manner ensuring that stock is easily accessible.
  • Organize and deliver goods from the store assigned to various departments where requisitions have been received and verified.
  • Ensure to properly package and label stock that is being movement from the store assigned to various departments. Engage the recipient department and ensure safe delivery of the stock.
  • Periodically check inventory to determine re-order levels and verify with records; requisitions standard stock items, supplies or materials.
  • Prepare documentation and inventory for stock taking and other ad-hoc audits.
  • Responsible for ensuring the store facility is in a good and clean status at all times. Ensure hygienic standards are maintained at all times.
  • Review and report defects or repairs on the store facility to ensure timely maintenance and repairs are carried out.
  • Report all potential and hazards immediately to the supervisor for guidance.
  • Adhere to safety standards and ensure to work with protective gear as expected while in the working space.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, polices and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of C - (minus) and above.

Work Experience

  • Two (2) years of inventory management experience in a large institution.

Competencies
Technical Competencies

  • Basic IT skills and a working knowledge of inventory management systems and working knowledge of Office365 Software (MS Excel, MS Word).
