Key responsibilities:
- Attracting, sourcing, and hiring qualified candidates for various roles within the organization.
- Collaborating with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and planning for seasonal or specialized labor requirements.
- Facilitating the orientation and onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they are familiar with the company’s policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Identifying training needs and organizing relevant training programs for employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Supporting continuous learning initiatives to keep employees updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Implementing performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance.
- Providing feedback to employees and managers to improve performance and achieve organizational goals.
- Managing compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
- Handling payroll processing and addressing any compensation-related queries.
- Handling employee relations issues, conflicts, and grievances.
- Promoting a positive work culture and fostering a healthy work environment.
- Ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and other relevant legislation.
- Keeping abreast of changes in regulations and advising management on necessary adjustments.
- Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conducting regular safety training and inspections.
- Collaborating with other departments to forecast workforce needs and plan for future staffing requirements.
- Developing strategies for talent retention and succession planning.
- Implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction.
- Organizing employee events, recognition programs, and communication channels.
- Managing personnel records, maintaining HR databases, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Administering employee benefits programs, leave policies, and other HR-related documentation.
- Managing relationships with unions or labor organizations if applicable.
- Participating in negotiations and collective bargaining processes.
Qualifications:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree and IHRM membership.
- 4+ years’ hands-on experience as a HR in the Agri sector.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to handle confidential information.
- Proven experience in problem-solving and taking initiative.
- Must be well conversant with the labor laws and ethical HR practices.
- Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
