Basic salary Kshs. 32,700 – 42,690 p.m. (Job Group ‘J’) All other allowances as per the SRC circulars

Terms of service: Permanent and Pensionable

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Bachelors’ degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Digital Cartography, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Natural Science, Natural Resource Management, Geography or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

This will be the entry and training grade for Geo-information Officers. Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing animal, land use and land cover geo-databases;
  • Undertaking data verification and quality control based on defined procedures;
  • Carrying out data analysis;
  • Undertaking statistical analysis;
  • Producing density distribution maps; and
  • Maintaining in-house GIS application programs.
