Thika Sports Club is a member's golf club. Our evergreen fairways emanates pure beauty with breathtaking sceneries of the Aberdare ranges, Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimambogo. The club is Located along the Thika Superhighway, barely half a kilometer from the Blue post Hotel where the famous Chania and Thika falls meet in a twin bridge.

  • We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organise the Kitchen activities. You will be first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and contentment.

Job Knowledge

  • Proven experience as Head Chef
  • Develop Menu, Food purchase specifications & recipes.
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • Up to date with culinary trends & optimized kitchen processes
  • Good understanding of useful computer programme (MS Office, excel & POS) *Credentials in Health & Safety training.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors degree/Diploma in culinary Arts and/or Hospitality management and at least 5 years food production and management experience.
  • Experience in a member's Club is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control & direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities.
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
  • Approve and polish dishes before they reach the guest.
  • Manage & train Kitchen staff.
  • Maintain records of payroll and attendance.
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Knowledge of & ability to perform required role during emergency situations
