The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. 265 of 1986 as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.

Job specification

  • Duties and responsibilities in this level will entail:
  • Typing from drafts, manuscripts or recording from dictation machines;
  • Managing e-office;
  • Managing office protocol;
  • Handling telephone calls and appointments;
  • Keeping safe custody of office records, documents and equipment;
  • Operating office equipment;
  • Recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing it in typewritten form; processing data; and
  • Management of office petty cash.

Person Specifications

  • For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC); OR
  • Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) Stages I, II and III from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) in the following subjects:
  • Shorthand III (minimum 100 w.p.m.);
  • Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.)/Proficiency in computerized Document
  • Processing III;
  • Business English III/Communications II;
  • Commerce II;
  • Office Practice II;
  • Secretarial Duties II; and Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III; and
  • Proficiency in computer application skills.
