Goal and objective:
Under the supervision of Partnerships Specialist and with guidance from Regional Communications Chief, the consultant will
- Work with digital marketing agency to create fundraising advertisements, landing pages and donor stewardship communication. This is in reference to the activity in the annual work plan that involves resource mobilization & partnerships strategies oversight, technical support, quality assurance and capacity development.
- Working with the Fundraising team in ESARO as well as the PFP and HQ experts, develop a framework for content production, that the country offices can use to guide their content gathering, and agencies can use for editing and postproduction. The framework should be informed by - UNICEF’s brand book, the ethical imagery guidance, the new inclusive story telling model and relevant fundraising strategies.
- Develop and produce content: based on this framework, and where needed working with internal and external consultants/agencies, the role will develop a content production plan and develop content that can include:
- Repurposed assets using archive material on UNICEF’s Digital Asset Management platform WeShare to create new assets.
- Creative conceptual assets using graphic/ animated elements.
- Remote produced content by remotely working with often amateur content creators to produce content packages.
- In-country content production by travelling to an affected country to produce content packages (often working in collaboration with local content creators).
- Managing post-production process of content assets.
- Ensuring that all content production and post-production meets UNICEF’s ethical and technical specifications and is prepared with various versions for dissemination including packaging on WeShare.
- Track and monitor performance of content. Working with fundraising consultants and agency, you will track the performance of fundraising content and make adjustments based on findings, allowing for all other factors of tests, including timing, quantity and channels of fundraising marketing products.
- Participate in fundraising working group, led by the PPP team, and also join the weekly communication team meetings, and the fortnightly strategy meetings.
Work relationships
- Reporting to Fundraising Specialist with a dotted line reporting to Sr. Advisor, Communications. The position will also work closely with the PFP team in Geneva, global digital marketing agency and eventually local digital marketing agencies.
Outputs/Deliverables:
- Under the supervision of the Partnerships Specialist and with guidance from Regional Chief of Communications, and working closely with the global team (PFP) and in accordance with UNICEF’s ethical imagery guidelines and technical specifications, the role will deliver:
- Develop framework for content creation and delivery
- Develop and create content in line with framework – in line with the demands of marketing and communication plans
- Produce a monthly report on performance of content, including reach, engagement and sign up from new and existing donors.
- Develop a donor recognition and visibility plan in line with the new global framework and including creative ideas for elevating profile of key donors in the region.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Education: An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Marketing, Communications, the humanities, journalism, broadcast, or another relevant field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with 2 years of additional professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing content for digital marketing / digital fundraising.
