Position Purpose:
- The Enterprise Business Analyst (EBA) is responsible for reviewing business needs and problems to provide strategic direction and identify initiatives that enable the business to achieve its strategic goals. The EBA works closely with the business to implement changes that lead to business improvements and transformation.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Enterprise Business Analysis:
- Ensure understanding of various business domains and their needs for continuous improvement in customer service delivery.
- Achieve strategic goals through continuous process improvements and technology project execution and implementation.
Requirements Management:
- Lead requirements elicitation, business requirements analysis, business solution assessment and validation, business analysis planning and monitoring.
- Document and communicate requirements, perform stakeholder analysis, business rules analysis, data analysis, and business modeling.
Business Research and Feasibility Studies:
- Conduct research to identify where the business is and where it should be.
- Perform feasibility studies and opportunity identification and analysis.
- Prepare and maintain business cases.
Facilitate Business Involvement:
- Facilitate business involvement and ownership in developing new business requirements.
- Document and review requirements, user stories, and use cases.
Support and Coordination with IT:
- Support users and coordinate with IT staff to provide business perspective input to IT system design.
- Assist in identifying business problems and needs, understanding stakeholder concerns, and contributing to business case development for IT projects.
Technical Specialism:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms and provide expert advice on their application.
- Supervise specialist technical consultancy.
Project Delivery:
- Conduct project impact and alternative analysis, define problems, analyze alternatives, and propose solutions.
- Facilitate business request justification and approval, document user requirements and benefits, and involve relevant stakeholders in solution review.
Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain communication channels and stakeholder groups.
- Gather customer information, facilitate open communication, agree on changes, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Process Improvement:
- Perform continuous business process re-engineering to optimize efficiency.
- Analyze business processes, identify alternative solutions, and recommend new approaches.
Change Management:
- Ensure smooth transition of change initiatives, execute assigned change requests within SLA, and communicate changes to business owners in advance.
Quality Standards and Benefit Realization:
- Meet quality requirements of projects with support from the quality assurance team.
- Assess benefits of initiatives within the business unit.
Technical Specialism and Compliance:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of technical specialism, ensure proposed solutions comply with best practices, and estimate costs and prepare business cases for IT solutions.
Business Goals and System Evaluation:
- Work closely with management to prioritize business goals and information needs.
- Examine existing business models and data flows, discuss findings with the business, and evaluate system specifications.
Domain Analysis:
- Understand assigned domains through constant analysis and documentation of functionalities, systems, processes, and pain points.
- Support in RFP documentation to ensure business requirements are captured.
Audit, Compliance, and Risk Management:
- Adhere to regulations, standards, practices, and internal processes and procedures.
- Contribute to achieving satisfactory audit ratings and address risk management requirements within remit.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- In-depth knowledge of business process re-engineering methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma
- Proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools
- Understanding of IT system development and implementation processes
- Ability to work across multiple business domains and handle new domains with confidence
- Knowledge of audit, compliance, and risk management practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a business analyst or in a similar position.
- Relevant certifications in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA)
- Proven experience in business analysis and process improvement within an enterprise environment
