Job Objective/Purpose

Provide and ensure quality Radiology services within the Avenue group in line with the company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to walk in and referred patients who present to the Radiology Department
  • Offer radiology consultancy to all the doctors in Avenue Group.
  • Consult and collaborate with other clinical departments to develop, review, and ensure adherence to radiology protocols and standards to ensure proper and accurate radiological diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure quality of radiological images and reports and images providing diagnostic support for all clinical departments.
  • Ensure accurate and proper records of radiological investigations are kept.
  • Ensure timely and accurate review and reporting of radiological investigations
  • Communicate and discuss radiological investigations and the results thereof with other physicians in support of clinical decision making.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to staff in the diagnostic imaging department.
  • Identify professional development gaps and ensure implementation of appropriate professional development, Continuous Medical Education and mentorship to colleagues to build capacity and exposure to best practice
  • In liaison with the Medical Services Manager, set, monitor and evaluate key performance indicators for the radiology department and ensure alignment with the Avenue Group strategic plan
  • Manage the radiation exposure to radiology staff to ensure that it remains within the recommended maximum limits.
  • Participate actively in the supervision and organization of the radiology department.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and morbidity and mortality meetings as required.
  • Participation in incident reporting, root cause analyses, clinical audit and Quality Improvement Plans as required
  • Maintain a positive work attitude and foster team work.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction through quality care, confidentiality, communication, feedback, escalation and demonstrated follow-up of patient’s concerns.
  • Support marketing activities and promote adoption of new radiological services to foster growth of the department.
  • Ensure that Avenue corporate governance policies are adhered to.
    • Prevent, detect and report any fraud or criminal activity
    • Timely review and implementation of audit recommendations
  • Ensure adequate knowledge of all Avenue policies, procedures and systems.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by your immediate supervisor in line with the job description.

Person Specification

  • Specialist recognition in Radiology
  • Master of Medicine in Radiology
  • Up to date BLS, ACLS Certificate
  • 2 years’ experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Result Oriented
