Brief Description
- The Cadet Ab Initio Drone Operator Training Program is an immersive, self-sponsored training initiative designed to equip aspiring drone operators with the essential skills and knowledge required in the field of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations. This program is not a job role but rather a unique opportunity for hands-on training and professional development.
- Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes both theoretical learning and practical applications, covering drone piloting, maintenance, regulations, safety protocols, and advanced aviation technologies. A key component of the training program is the On-the-Job Training (OJT) segment, which provides cadets with valuable exposure and real-world experience in various aspects of drone operation.
- Throughout the program, cadets will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, enabling them to transform into well-rounded drone operators. This self-sponsored training program serves as a vital steppingstone for those looking to pursue a career in UAS operations and aviation.
Detailed Description
During the Six Months, (8 weeks training and 12 weeks On Job Training), Cadets will be expected to:
- Attend and actively participate in classroom-based training sessions covering topics such as aerodynamics, flight regulations, navigation, and drone systems.
- Engage in hands-on practical training, including simulated and supervised flight operations, to develop proficiency in drone piloting and flight maneuvers.
- Assist experienced drone pilots and technicians in various operational tasks, such as pre-flight inspections, mission planning, and post-flight data analysis.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, such as workshops, seminars, and certification programs, to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, minor repairs, and inventory management of drone equipment and accessories.
- Contribute to team projects and research initiatives, providing support in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning, seeking feedback, and continuously improving performance.
Job Requirements
Qualification (Minimum)
- High School Certificate with a minimum grade of C Plus or equivalent.
- A Diploma or Degree in any relevant.
- A Valid certificate of good conduct issued not less than 1 year ago.
- A Valid Driver’s License.
- NYS Trained is an added advantage.
Additional Details
- Requirements for engagement as a Cadet
- Be a Kenyan Citizen with a minimum age of 18 years
- Must have graduated with a first Degree (undergraduate) or Diploma from a recognized institution
- Must be available full time for the six months duration of the program.
