Overall purpose of the job

Reporting to the Assistant Administration Officer, the incumbent will assist in fleet operations.

Job specifications (duties)

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: -

  • Driving a vehicle as authorized;
  • Carrying out checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure and other related routine checks;
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
  • Maintaining work ticket(s) for vehicle(s) assigned;
  • Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
  • Ensuring safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

Persons’ specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

  • Minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ or its equivalent;
  • Valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle; and
  • Proven experience in driving the vehicles one is licensed to drive.
