ROLE DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with the Communications and Partnership the consultant will:
- Advise on communications strategy.
- Direct outreach to media and coordinate with local, national regional and international media securing media outputs and coverage based on strategy, list of contacts and agreed messaging.
- Organize a high-level press conference and media interviews for Nobel laureates and participants of the Rooted & Rising convening, including liaising with the location, taking care of invitations etc.
- Provide preparatory briefings on media.
- Deliver a media and outreach impact report after the event.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of broad communications experience.
- Experience working with the media and strong relationships with local, national, and regional journalists/media.
- Fluent in Swahili and English.
- Solid understanding of the media landscape in Kenya and the region.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Availability to participate in relevant convening activities (such as a press conference) between 1–5 March 2026.
- Based in Nairobi.
