Our client is one of Tanzania’s largest safari and adventure travel companies and is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified professional for the position outlined below.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (initial induction), with close coordination with Arusha, Tanzania

Kibo Guides is a Tanzania-based safari and adventure travel company specializing in expertly curated tours across Tanzania’s most iconic destinations. We are renowned for delivering high-quality, responsible travel experiences, including wildlife safaris, cultural tours, and adventure programs tailored for international travel agents, tour operators, and direct clients. 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a Destination Marketing and Sales Consultant to promote Tanzania as a premier travel destination and to market Kibo Guides’ approved tours, itineraries, and services to international partners and clients. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Promote Tanzania using company-approved tours, itineraries, and marketing resources. 
  • Market services to international travel agents, tour operators, and direct clients in line with company guidelines. 
  • Use only company-approved pricing and materials, ensuring accurate representation of policies and terms. 
  • Safeguard the reputation and commercial interests of Kibo Guides. 
  • Coordinate closely with the booking office in Arusha, providing regular updates as required. 
  • Maintain professional communication via email, phone, and agreed channels. 
  • Perform other reasonable marketing or sales-support tasks as requested. 
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. 
  • Obtain prior written approval before promoting destinations other than Tanzania. 

Training and Work Arrangement 

  • A three-month induction and systems training will be conducted in Nairobi during standard office hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm EAT). 
  • After induction, the consultant will operate independently, based on agreed deliverables, company service level standards and performance expectations. 
  • Occasional availability outside standard hours may be required to respond to urgent customer or partner needs. 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in tourism sales, destination marketing, or tour operations. 
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written). 
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and reservation systems. 
  • Knowledge of Tanzanian tourism destinations and safari logistics is an advantage. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Technical Skills 

  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, online collaboration tools (Zoom, Google Docs, WhatsApp), and social media platforms (Tripadvisor, Google Business, Canva, Photoshop).
