LED Power Technologies (EA) K Ltd is a reputable construction and prime services company committed in providing safe, reliable, and efficient services across Kenya and the East African region. Our construction fleet includes heavy-duty Sinotruk HOWO 371 HP prime movers with trailers, carrying cargo for long-distance and regional routes. We are seeking highly experienced, professional truck drivers with specialized skills operating Sinotruk HOWO 371 HP vehicles with trailers. The ideal candidates should have deep knowledge of heavy-duty truck operations, mechanical troubleshooting specific to Sinotruk HOWO models, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Safely drive Sinotruk HOWO 371 HP prime movers with trailers across planned routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
  • Adhere strictly to the Road Traffic Act of Kenya and NTSA regulations at all times.
  • Follow assigned schedules, delivery instructions, and transport documentation procedures.
  • Communicate with dispatch and operations teams regularly.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical competencies specifically for Sinotruk HOWO models.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs (engine, transmission, hydraulics, electrical connections, brakes, etc.).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues under field conditions.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are logged accurately and reported timely.
  • Liaise with fleet mechanics and workshop teams when advanced servicing is required.
  • Full compliance with all NTSA laws and safety regulations.
  • Ensure load security, vehicle roadworthiness, and driver safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and cooperate with vehicle inspections.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately to management.
  • Experience with Sinotruk HOWO 371 HP Prime Movers (Heavy Duty), accompanied by trailers (standard, sliding axle and flatbed), is mandatory.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid Kenya Class F or Equivalent Commercial Driving License (allowed for trailers).
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience driving heavy-duty trucks specifically Sinotruk HOWO or equivalent (350 HP or greater).
  • Demonstrated mechanic skills and ability to conduct repairs and maintenance on Sinotruk HOWO.
  • Strong understanding of NTSA rules and Road Traffic Act compliance.
  • Valid NTSA Vehicle Inspection Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
  • Familiarity with electronic engine diagnostics for Sinotruk HOWO is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in long-haul, regional, or cross-border trucking is required.
  • Certification in heavy vehicle maintenance and automotive mechanics is an added advantage.
  • Basic English communication for reporting and documentation.

  • Valid Driving License (Class F or equivalent).
  • NTSA Certificate(s).
  • Updated CV.
  • Certification or proof of mechanic training (this is an added advantage).
  • Police Clearance Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Reference letters preferably from previous transport or logistics employers.
