KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare a structured programme of study for each class taught with clearly stated aims and objectives and with evidence of allowing for differentiation between students of different abilities.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teach individual lessons.
  • Mark class work and homework and assess achievement according to agreed Faculty policy.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and assimilate elements of the British National Curriculum as appropriate
  • Include in schemes of work elements of information technology in consultation with the IT department staff.
  • Attend meetings, including parent consultation meetings, as required, scheduled, and/or necessary.
  • Be involved in the duty rota, as scheduled.
  • Ensure that the ethics of the school as expressed in the school philosophy are clearly reflected in your teaching.
  • Cover for absent colleagues and invigilate examinations as required.
  • Promote the image of the school.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned to you by the Director and the Core Management Team.
  • Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual responsibility undertaken may not be identified.
  • The duties outlined above are not intended as a restrictive list and may be extended or altered to include other tasks that are commensurate with the role as directed by Senior Management.
