MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Products coming in and out of the branch
- All transfers of products from the Central Warehouse to the Branch with all immediate delivery with all products that need to be sent to repairs
- Operating behind the scene at stores to unpack, inspect and stock merchandise of all kinds
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Internally: Warehouse Manager, Branch Manager/Branch Accountant, HR, Finance, Clerks, Sales Executives, Drivers, IT Personnel, Customer Service, Warehouse personnel.
- Externally: Clients, Suppliers
- The job holder reports to: The Warehouse Manager
- No: of subordinates: Warehouse personnel, drivers
KEY RESULTS AREAS
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Records and maintains inventory of all products in the warehouse
- Is responsible for the basic security at the warehouse – product and premises
- Is careful to use the equipment entrusted to him with utmost care and for proper use.
- Maintains a daily log of all duties entrusted to him.
- Recording damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse and reporting the same to the supervising authorities
- Ensure that company policies, health and safety regulations are followed.
- Keeping records of all documentation relating to the dispatch and receipt of goods
- Communicate & Implement change as directed.
- Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stock takes and audit of same to verify results.
- Carries out regular stock takes for equipment in their area of operation.
- Should be able to establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service.
- Ensure supervision of all staff under your direct or indirect control.
- Ensure the daily targets of tasks given are accomplished within the set time.
- Ensure all resources are utilized efficiently.
- Ensure efficient coordination of operations in the warehouse.
- Assist the supervisor in proper planning and coordination of labour force
- Coordinate deliveries with carriers to ensure KPIs are achieved.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assist to operate powered industrial forklift to transport inventory, unload incoming stock and load orders.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors & also Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
- Follows standard operating procedures.
- Transact inventory movements using inventory control system.
- Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
- Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
- Unload items to be stocked in warehouses and or storage yards.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Package and stock finished goods items.
- Interface with Customer Service, Technical Service and delivery personnel.
- Assist to carry out the duties for the Warehouse Supervisor in their absence (holiday / off duty)
- Carry out other duties as required by the management
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
The job holder should ideally possess:
- Bachelor in Supply Chain/ Logistics, Business Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- 1-3 years of relevant warehouse experience
