Position Scope:

  • This position is responsible for the development, management and growth of Shariah-compliant banking products. The role ensures all products align with the shariah principles, regulatory requirements and market needs while driving profitability, innovation, customer value proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and launch shariah-compliant products.
  • Ensure all products adhere to shariah guidelines and obtain approvals from the shariah supervisory board.
  • Manage products from ideation to launch, review, enhancement and retirement.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify customer needs, trends and opportunities in Islamic Banking.
  • Track product performance, margins, uptake and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to Central Bank regulations and Islamic Banking standards.
  • Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, ICT, Operations to ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Enhance product features and processes to improve customer satisfaction and accessibility.
  • Provide insights and reports to support strategic decisions and product portfolio growth.
  • Support internal teams with product knowledge and training.

Education/Professional Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics or a business-related field from a recognized university.
  • Master’s degree in a Business-related field from a recognized University is an added advantage
  • Professional certification in Islamic Finance will be an added advantage.
  • 5 years’ experience in Islamic Financial Institution with at least 3 years in Islamic banking product development.
  • Strong understanding of Shariah compliant contracts and structures.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements for Islamic banking.
  • Strong knowledge of Islamic finance principles.
  • Product development and lifecycle management skills
  • Analytical and financial modelling capability.
  • Stakeholder management and collaboration.
  • Innovation and strategic thinking.
  • Customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Project management skills
